Basic image-editing techniques in Photoshop are covered, as well as more advanced techniques of particular interest to scientists. Some of these include stitching images together, correcting for uneven illumination, saving a history of processing steps, and removing dust and scratches from images of electrophoretic samples. Separate sections of the book cover taking measurements from samples in Photoshop, separating features of interest from the background of an image, and creating stereo images. The preparation of images for output to a number of different devices, including printers of various types, video, PDF, projectors, and Web sites is also covered. The text also includes flowcharts and tables illustrating procedures and mathematical functions.
